Benedict Lewis-Smith read music at the University of Oxford and was Organ Scholar at The Queen’s College (2007-2010). He is now Director of Music at St. George’s School, Windsor Castle, and Assistant Organist at St. Columba’s, Knightsbridge.
At university, he was Master of the Music at Pusey House and toured with the choir to Rome, giving concerts in Sant’Agnese in Agone and Santi Vincenzo e Anastasio a Trevi. He has worked with choirs such as Wokingham Choral Society, Blossom Street and Taplow Youth Choir. His conducting experience includes Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro – performed in the Sheldonian Theatre, Oxford (2010).
Benedict played for two BBC Radio 3 broadcasts of Choral Evensong whilst at university. He is also an experienced répétiteur and has worked most recently on Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Co-Opera Co). This year, he released a recording of Warlock with Blossom Street, for Resonus Classics.
